The Dragon Doesn't Live Here Anymore

Thank you Alan Cohen! Your daily quotes have met the match daily. They're my spiritual jolt for the day. Question---Is it at all possible not to relearn or discover more each time a person reads "The Dragon?" Better yet, does one ever finish "The Dragon?' You need not reply! We will make one of your seminars someday......God be with you.

The path just keeps unfolding into more wondrous dimensions. Keep shining.

Alan-I signed up for the "Relax into Wealth" series, and I was trying to order books on tape. Specifically Dragon Doesn't Live... and I Had It Al the Time. I did not see them offered online so that is my question. Can I get those two specifically on line, or do I have to mail in the order form that I picked up ?(while you were her in Reno) Thanks in advance! Leslie

Hi Leslie,

You can find and order all of my books and tapes simply by clicking on the "bookstore" section on my website, www.alancohen.com.

They're Playing Your Song

I'd like to get copy of article on They're Playing Your Song - when I went back online to get the story of African tribe, etc., article was off line. Possible? Sally Hill -

Sure, we'll post it again. Thanks for asking

I just wanted to tell you that an article of yours made quite an impact on me. I have it in a notebook that I work with every day: 'A friend confided in me that he was struggling to understand his responsibility in a world obsessed with war. I told him the answer is simple:choose peace.'The article went on to talk about Mother Teresa and Ram Dass.Could I get a copy of it on line to send to others, please?Thank you,Michael Hoefler

Hi Michael, Thanks for the acknowledgment. If you would email my office at info@alancohen.com, we'd be happy to get you the article.

re: your article "They're Playing Your Song". . . what is the name of the tribe that you are referring to about the African woman that's pregnant and go into the wilderness to hear the song of the child?Gwen Brooks

Hi Gwen, Thanks for asking. Lots of people have. Actually, I don't have the name to give you. I heard the story from several different sources, none of whom had the name at hand. Although it would be interesting and helpful to know the name, I think the theme is even more important. The story usually brings people to tears when they hear or read it, and that tells me that there is something inside each of us that recognizes that we each have a unique song we must sing, and we feel affirmed and empowered when others remind us of it.

Hello!!!! Thank you for posting this section!!! In one of my visits to hearing you speak you told a story of Soul Song in Africia when the children are born. Would you re-tell story? For some reason my mind is not recalling it! Thank you!!!! Constance Rose / Lahaina/ Soul Spa

Hi Constance,

You can find the entire story with commentary by clicking on the "Articles" button above, and then going to "They're Playing Your Song." Enjoy :-)

A Course in Miracles

In your writing you often mention "A Course In Miracles". How do I find out more about this course?

The course has been an amazing influence in my life, and the lives of so many. I thank God for it. You can find more at www.acim.org.

Why Your Life Sucks and What You Can Do About It

I heard a reading about anger on the radio (Dave Wiengert-KVVR). I am a counselor and would love to know what book that was in. It spoke of what anger does to the person who carries it. It was written by Alan. Thank you! Earlene Ostberg

Probably Why Your Life Sucks and What You Can Do About It

I am interested in obtaining a copy of the article that Dave Till Dawn read on his program this past weekend pertaining to how the use of technology has made our lives more complicated rather than more meaningful. I feel this article is very powerful and would like to share it with he classes that I teach. Thank you for your help. I am also looking forward to receiving your newsletter.Beverly Ross

Hi Beverly, Thanks for your acknowledgment and article. I appreciate Dave Til Dawn reading my material. I am not sure exactly which article he read, but the substance can be found in chapter 9 of my book Why Your Life Sucks and What You Can Do About It. You can pick up a copy of the book on Amazon.com or most Borders stores. If you like, email my office at address on my website, and we can email you an excerpt. Take care, Alan

Mistake Salad

Where did the origin of the young boy playing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" on the piano with Paderewski come from. I've searched the Paderewski sites and can't find it. I love the story and in sharing it someone asked if it was an "urban legend".

I found it on the Internet quite a while ago. No source was listed. I have seen it again here and there. You might try a search with some key words on a search engine.

The Faithkeeper

Alan, did the article "Faithkeepers" come from one of your books?  If so which one?  Jan Smith

No, it was an article I wrote in response to the events of September 11. If you liked that article, you may like my book Looking in for Number one, available through my website. It's a collection of many of my most popular articles.

General

I attended the Celebrate your Life conference this weekend and heard you speak for the first time.  The entire weekend was inspiring and it's my first encounter really with most of the books, authors that were present.
I'd like to purchase one of your books.  What is a good starting book for someone who hasnt read too much on spirituality?
Thanks.  You were a wonderful speaker.

Thanks, I enjoyed the conference immensely and I'm glad you were there.

For a book recommendation for you, I would suggest
A Deep Breath of Life  or Dare to Be Yourself.

Best blessings on your great new adventure!

I Had It All the Time

I wonder which poems by T.S. Eliot are adopted on the very first page in I HAD ALL THE TIME. I'm referring to the Japanese translation version.

The line is from T.S. Eliot's poem "Little Gidding.”

Dare to Be Yourself

Hi,Just a comment. I am reading Dare To Be Yourself and on page 38 of my paperback, it mentions the Hyacinth For Soul poem. This is how it really goes: "If of thy store two loaves to thee are left, sell one and with the dole, buy Hyacinths to feed the soul." Although your version gets the idea across the original is so much more lyrical and memorable don't you think? I love this line from your book, "God, in Her Great Compassion...." Hallelulia someone gets it. I found your book in a swap shop. My lucky day. Its just what I need right now. Synchronicity Huh?Thanks for being there. Sally Morse from Cape Cod MA

Hi Sally, Thanks for the update. I agree - the original is much more poetic!
